This classic original soundtrack single CD is all you need. Not the other special edition consisting of two disks with cover versions of the songs by various artists making up the second CD. I only wanted the CD consisting of all the same tracks that I once owned on a cassette tape purchased in 1993 from the music store at the mall (and yes you are that old!) which is why I made sure to buy this version from my favorite online seller. Danny Elfman and his zany tunes are now part of Halloween itself from "This is Halloween" to "Oogie Boogie's Song" and best of all, you get the "Opening" and "Closing" prologue and epilogue as narrated by the great Patrick Stewart which really should have been included in their entireties in the feature film but weren't. Google this to find out why. But, seriously Tim, you really should have kept them in! Or at least included it in a deleted scenes featurette on the DVD. Well, what the heck, you went and did your best...

I bought this for my boyfriends 16 year old daughter and she loved it.

It's a wonderful album with all my favorite songs from the movie. Delivery and packaging was great. The vinyl jacket has a lot of great art work from the movie, the quality of the recording is very good, and the vinyl looks very special when not spinning. HOWEVER Unfortunately, I feel I needed to remove one star because the Zoetrope does not work. The animation sequence on the vinyl is printed too small/squeezed, so spinning at the standard RPM of your record player will only show a blurry ring vs. the intended animation. The only way I was able to see it is if I spun the record in a dark room, and downloaded strobe app on my phone and set the Hz (timing) just right. I thought it was just me, I spun it at my family Christmas party and no one was able to see a nice animation. Everyone said it was just blurry rings. Regardless, I'm happy with my purchase and would get it again to keep in my collection. I just wish the zoetrope animation was more than a blurry mess when the album spins.

Play Video My girlfriend nearly cried when I gave this to her as a Halloween present. The vinyls are gorgeous, sound great, and the zoetropes are wonderful. You'll see a lot of nonsense about special lighting, certain cameras, apps, etc for revealing zoetrope animation; but let me tell you how I easily took a bunch of b-roll with only my phone (and a tripod, optional). Instructions for Android phones: go to your camera app, enter manual/professional/whatever your phone calls it video mode, dial your "speed" up or down until you see the animation become more and more clear. Once the animation is showing smoothly, the image will probably be very blown out (highlights) or very dark, so proceed to dial your ISO up or down and play with your exposure setting until it's balanced out. If you're using a tripod or some other handsfree stabilizing implement, manually lock your point of focus somewhere toward the center or outer-3rd of the frame and take a couple short test clips to make sure that's where you want it. Fiddle with angles and the aforementioned settings to your desired result. If you're not using a tripod or otherwise, set your focus to auto tracking and tap where you want it, but try to avoid moving toward and away from the platter (smoothly side to side should generally be fine). Some or all of these instructions may work with iPhones, but I cannot personally confirm that. Flash is optional, depending on your situation. Hope that helps!
