Bill O'Neill's The Ultimate History Buff Challenge: Over 600 Quiz Questions for Curious History Lovers lives up to its name. This engaging book is more than just a trivia collection; it's a whirlwind tour through five millennia of history, uncovering forgotten facts and testing your knowledge along the way. O'Neill keeps things interesting with a mix of multiple-choice, true or false, and open-ended questions. Whether you're a seasoned history buff or a curious newcomer, there's something here to challenge and entertain. The book delves deep, starting from the ancient world's wonders and weaving its way through history's grand tapestry, all the way to the 20th century. If you crave knowledge and enjoy a good quiz, then The Ultimate History Buff Challenge is a must-read. It doesn't matter if you're familiar with O'Neill's work or not; this book is a guaranteed good time for anyone who loves history. So, pick it up, test your knowledge, and discover a treasure trove of fascinating historical trivia.

This is an interesting book of interesting information. It is in questions and answers format. Some of the interesting facts that the author of this book mentions in this book includes the following information: The Falkland Islands were discovered by a mariner named John Strong. The islands were named in honor of Viscount Falkland, who was treasurer of the British Royal Navy. The Portuguese royal family moved to Brazil in 1807. The cities of Detroit and Mobile were founded by French settlers. Thomas Edison proposed to his wife in Morse Code. The Mayflower's bulky shape meant that a voyage that should have taken a month ended up taking twice as long. Before 1868, Tokyo was named Edo. I recommend this book to those people who want to know more about history than they knew before reading this book.

It is written and such a way that they give a little bit of narrative about the time or event they are reviewing then give multiple choices questions. You learn fine doing your best guess and then reviewing the correct answer.

I having been following this author from the beginning. One book was all it took to let me know that this author's style was the right way to go when dealing with trivia. See, I'm a trivia junkie and I have read allot of books on the subject. Bill has found the perfect way to present the facts in a fun entertaining way. He goes beyond just the facts to giving you more than want to through to knew. You can't go wrong with this author.

This has already been reviewed & is already published.! We love quizzes. i.e. Jeopardy. So it's like a game we can enjoy anytime, not just waiting for 7:30pm when our favourite game show comes on air! & Gives us some extra time together with lots of laughs too.

Though I read a great deal and like a good fact, I don't read as much about history as some. But I would highly recommend this book. The quizzes are just the right length and the questions interesting - so you'll often want to know what the answer is even if you don't know it. The answers are immediately after each quiz so there's no having to go to the end of the book each time you want to see them. The answers often have additional information too, making them even more interesting. So don't see this as a boring set of Q and A's - it's a genuinely interesting and enjoyable read.
