I’m not much of a military minded person, but after hearing someone I highly respect mention this book during a podcast interview, I had to give it a read, and I am glad I did.
THIS BOOK IS FANTASTIC !
Well written and masterfully edited, Pete eloquently lays out precise details of how the military is the Lefts last frontier in the cultural and social demise they leave in their wake.
It is shocking to learn how this ideology, which has already metastasized throughout secondary education, is spreading like a cancer throughout the last standing meritocracy — our military.
It’s is a fantastic read, and highly recommended to anyone who values the freedom & integrity our wonderful republic was founded upon.

It's a compelling read. Makes a powerful case that in recent years the Pentagon leadership has given up on developing warriors and weakened our war-making capabilities in pursuit of the neo-racist DEI ideology. Based on Hegseth's experience as a platoon leader in Iraq and Afghanistan and interviews. He writes well.

I hurriedly purchased this as soon as I heard Mr. Hegseth was nominated as Sec Def by President-Elect President Trump. I never saw him on TV but after scoping him out concluded he wasn't the worst possible choice. A conservative patriot, served ultimately as a field-grade officer with the CIB and two Bronze Stars, double Ivy League smart, self-made accomplished author and political pundit... It seems he's being tarnished for "hush money" now but after quickly reading his book I think he is the right man for the job, play on words intended, despite the tattoos and I hope he'll be confirmed. The book, as he even comments, is not a fun read but a necessary and necessarily frank treatise on the state of our besieged republic's beleaguered armed services.

The details in this book not only inform but educate the reader on the past, present, and worrisome future of our military readiness. We can only pray that our warrior class mentality is restored in those leading our brave, young Patriots.

Incredible insights from a highly decorated soldier and highly educated patriot! A must read for all Americans that value Freedom and the Constitution.

Pete writes a very interesting book. I believe he spends too much time in the beginning of the book to complain. It can be succinctly stated in a few paragraphs the woke, d e i, and CRT without all the extra writing that he did. However, when you get near the end, then the book gets very interesting and I would recommend somebody to purchase it.

This is a very important book for everyone who cares about the military and the brave men who serve. Pete Hegseth writes from personal experience and documents how the U.S. military has seriously deteriorated under woke policies that endanger the country. He provides many examples for the reader and argues that if this situation is not turned around, the country will be extremely vulnerable in an increasingly hostile world. By targeting its own members and accusing them of "far right" extremism, the military not only puts the country at risk in the present, but risks its future, as those who predominantly comprise the actual fighting strength of the military, young, white men, will choose not to join. The military is already experiencing a recruiting shortfall and woke ideology will only exacerbate this problem, which risks America's future. Weakness always invites aggression from adversaries. He concludes the book with an open letter to his five sons about making the choice to serve. Citizens need to be aware of what is happening to a once great military, so I highly recommend this book to all citizens concerned about America and the brave men who protect it.
