I was always fascinated with crochet. I had a couple of friends who would crochet and it looked like witchcraft. There were some times when people would try to show me basic stitches, but I never got the hang of it. Until The Woobles. I fell hard for the marketing. It was just so cute, and I figured it would be worth a shot. I really loved that the kit came with everything I needed to make this adorable little bunny, so I didn't need to buy a million things and hope I got the right ones. I'll admit, it was pretty challenging, but the end result came out so great that I was inspired to crochet more. Now, I'm known as the crochet fiend in my friend group. I can make practically anything and I owe it all to the Woobles. It doesn't just teach you how to crochet, it teaches you how to understand crochet, like with reading a pattern. IAnytime now someone asks me how to learn crochet, I direct them straight to this company.

First off, before buying this kit I had absolutely no prior crocheting knowledge. The videos taught me all the basics I needed to know. I’m the type of person who can pick things up quickly but need to have the basics broken down in a visual way before I can take off with it. I had initially just went to the craft store and bought the tools Google told me I needed and went to YouTube to figure it out. I was frustrated by the videos I had watched and was about to give up on it entirely. My last ditch effort was picking up this cute little dinosaur kit. I finished the piece in less than a day and had the knowledge from there to read basic stuffed animal patterns and really understand it on my own. This is the best possible thing to give to a beginner at crocheting - and the dinosaur you have at the end is adorable!

I've always thought that because I was a knitter, my brain just couldn't handle crochet. But when a friend and fellow knitter did one of these kits, I decided to give it a go. I got two kits, one for me and one for another friend, and we've made it a weekly date to get together and work through a few more steps in this project. It's been great! The kit comes with pretty much everything you need to get started. The only things you'll need to have on hand is a device to watch the videos, pencil and paper to keep track of your rows (or a stitch counter if you're already a knitter), and a pair of scissors. While there definitely isn't $30 worth of materials in the kit, the price is more than worth it for the videos. They're broken down into easy to digest chunks, and the teacher does a good job of both explaining and demonstrating each step as well as explaining how to read the pattern. My friend is an absolute beginner to any type of fiber craft, so she was starting from ground zero. I consider myself an advanced knitter, so understood things like tension and at least the concepts behind crochet. With the help of the videos, both of us jumped into other crochet projects with a solid understanding of the techniques that we'd learned so far. The kit is marked as being for ages 12+, which I think is about right. The size of the project and the yarn used I think would be challenging for younger children who may not have as developed sense of dexterity. But for teens and adults, this is a great way to get into crochet!
