My daughters got me into the keeper of the lost cities books a couple years ago, and I’ve been addicted ever since. I was excited about this book because who wouldn’t love Keefe?
After reading some of the other reviews, I want to say I’m a huge fan of Shannon Messenger. She writes about real people; their struggles and triumphs, the dark and the light, and the love between friends. Her stories make me proud to be a human (even though we are all wishing we were elves!)

Very disappointed and frustrated with this book. Loved the story, but the underlying agendas were added for zero reason. This book was written purely to and gay characters and was completely unnecessary to the story. It is not appropriate or necessary for this recommended age range.

This is classic Keeper! I’ve been a Keeper fan for about 3 years and I’ve been on teem Keefe ever since he entered the story in book 1, so this book is right up my alley! If you like Keefe, you will LOVE this book! Shannon Messenger is a mastermind when it comes to writing about complex characters in a way I haven’t seen some other author’s do. She is now
taking us on a wild ride through Keefe’s adventures in our world.

What a let down! My family has been eagerly awaiting this book and fell upon it with gusto when our pre-order arrived yesterday. We were disappointed by it. The plotline feels completely unnecessary to the larger series, with yet another cliffhanger at the end. In this book, for the first time, Messenger included LGBTQ references. They felt awkward and unnecessary—which leads me to think she just caved to pressure to add that agenda to her series. Just wanted to warn those who may not want to purchase this book for that reason. My kids are older readers, but we still need to decide whether or not we will continue to support the series.

This book was so great! I have waited all year for it and am definitely not disappointed. Shannon Messenger dazzles us again with this beautifully crafted book. 😁😁😁😁’

My daughter is a super fan and was so excited to get this book. We were both super frustrated to see how the author clearly tried to impress young readers on how to think about LGBTQ relationships. It was completely unnecessary and obvious. Definitely not something kids would
“ miss” in their reading and it required a sit down conversation about the comments made in the book. Felt very forced and in your face. Not appropriate for kids.

So sad that the author decided to put LGBT stuff in there after saying her book world wouldn’t include that. It’s all that everyone on Christian fb pages is talking about today. So many disappointed kids who have loved this series. All 9 of the books so far have been great. Can’t believe she would do this to so many fans who have been highly recommending her books everywhere.
