Works great, although sometimes the remote doesn't seem to work when you're trying to get it to position 1 (the saved position). The main purpose of this review is to let anyone know that is looking at this, that you CAN DIRECTLY mount a tv with 200x100 VESA pattern to it. It mounts to the center place, you don't even need to install the wings. I ended up buying an adapter plate because the Q & A's for this item have statement saying that you cannot directly mount a 200x100 tv to it. That is false, don't waste another 20 bucks on an adapter that you don't need! As far as the product goes, I thought I wouldn't like how slow it moves, but's it's actually elegant IMO and because mine is mounted in my gazebo on a slanted roof, it's pretty quick as it only has to move down about half way for the position of the tv to be in the proper position. None of the other manual mounts I saw seems to have a good ability to stop before hitting 90 degrees down, and mine is so high up that I would have needed a ladder to get the tv down and up, anyway. For that right there, this is worth the money. Solid product, just trying to figure out why the remote works sometimes, and not others.....could be the receiver position or something. All in all, I would recommend this product, even though it costs more than the roku tv I mounted to it!

This is just what I needed. It goes in my basement, in front of treadmill etc which face the open room where no walls are nearby. My ceiling is unfinished so the joists are exposed which is nice. I need it mounted ACROSS the joists. If this is your scenario so far, this story's for you. The mount does not have holes 16" apart, so I cut a piece of pine shelving 3/4" x 9" x 23" and fastened that to the joists with my own lag screws about 1/2" longer than Vivo's, to make up for the 3/4" lost getting the screw past the pine board. Probably overkill for a 17 lb 43" Roku tv but not a gamble that interests me. You don't need the full 9" width but I did need the 23" length, so that the mount's main support (the keyhole openings) attach directly thru the pine board into the front joist, while the rear end of the board reaches just past the rear joist. And the front end reaches the front mounting holes. (picture) Tip: I first tacked the board into place with a 1" picture-hanging nail in each joist, just enough to hold it up but easy to pull the board off if ever needed. That made drilling and setting the 4 lag screws into the 2 joists much easier, and hit every joist center. (pretty sure one screw in the rear would have sufficed) Lastly I put my own 1" wood screws in all the other mounting holes. None of this is in the manual and the parts aren't included. And it works great. I don't mind the slow movement. It's kind of elegant even. Very quiet. Also, I use preset 1 to raise it just enough for a 6'3" person to walk under (my ceiling is 8'). Cuts the motion time in half. Preset 2 takes it up just parallel to the floor. Turns out the up button (all the way up) takes it a litte past parallel and relies on the physical cutoff switch to stop it. Neither of which I want. Minor complaint: I'd like it to descend a bit lower, but not a big deal. The remote is RF. I think the complaints about the remote from 2 years back or more were an IR remote. IR you have to point at the receiver, RF you don't. I've had no trouble with mine so far (very early). Now, if the MOTOR craps out like it has for others, I'll be back to take some stars off.

Click to play video This device is amazing, especially since it's the same price as non-electrical wall mounted units. It's a great space saver for boats (or any place, actually). Even in heavy waves, it works flawlessly. The only warning I can give is even if you think your roof is flat, it probably isn't and it might throw some error codes (beeping and stops working) because it is hyperflexing. There is an easy fix by programming the maximum drop. This is one of my best purchases ever for my boat. It really freed up the room and makes the salon feel much bigger. I'm going to buy more for the staterooms. It is easy to install because I hired a guy who is handy, but it only took about an hour from start to finish. The remote is kind of odd, in that the programmable buttons (that, in theory should only be set once) are the same size and are as prominent as the buttons to lower the tv to it's preset location. And, they are marked only as "mem1/mem2" and "1/2"

I was skeptical at first, but must admit this mount is amazing. I have a garage gym setup, and wanted to add a TV during workouts, but didn't want the TV in the way when not working out.... well this motorized fold down mount is perfect. I've used it for about 3 months now, and wanted to see how it held up in the cold before I wrote a review. The install is very simple (like any TV mount install, just make sure are getting your mount into wood studs, and if you are not, add a 3/4" or 1" plywood board backer). For a ceiling mount, you most likely won't be hitting all your screws into studs, so a solid plywood backer is a must. I have a 42" old school heavy LCD TV on the mount, and the motor still works like a charm. I am in Ottawa, where we have -40 degree C weather, and my garage gets down to -3 to +4 degrees on average for the colder winter days. The Mount still works fine, even with the heavier model TV. Also, for anyone wondering, the LCD TV holds up well in the cold weather, no issues so far. Will upgrade to LED at some point. The Fold up/down is pretty quick, maybe 30 seconds or so. I have it placed above the garage door (lift master door system, so there's no belt or chain), and it tucks away perfectly when not needed and it was otherwise un-used garage space. Slapped in a cheap ROKU stick and now I can watch anything while working out. Well worth the price for what it accomplishes in a small space. Very happy with this purchase for the home gym!

I wanted to installa TV into my son's bedroom, but there wasn't a good option to put it on a wall, so I came across this Vivo Ceiling TV mount product and it works realy well. I had to put some strengthening timbers above the ceiling in the attic/loft whihc was by far the hardest part. The rest of the installation was easy. I recommend this product.
