Bought two of these for under the carpet in our sunroom. Working great. Carpet doesn't slide or move and the pad provides a small amount of cushion under the thin carpet. Cuts easily with regular scissors so it was easy to shape and install.

I recently purchased a new rug and it recommended to use a rug mat underneath so it doesn’t ruin the hardwood floors. I purchased the 8 x 10 to go under a 8 x 10 rug and it was just a little longer than the actual rug. No problem as I can just cut it down to size. Yes, there was a slight smell to the product but it wasn’t too overwhelming. I opened it up and aired it out the day before laying it down. Once down on the ground there were a few folds and wrinkles throughout the mat. However, I just stretched it out as much as possible and then put the rug over it. Once the weight of the rug is on it, it will lay flat. The reason I purchased this mat is that I didn’t want it to be too high as we are constantly walking on this rug when we enter the house. I didn’t want anyone tripping on the ends if it’s too high up. This allowed it to lay down without any problems and I would recommend it. It also doesn’t slip around but then I also have a very heavy coffee table on it.

I bought the 8x10 for my new rug and it’s even bigger than the rug which is great because you can just cut the excess with some scissors. So far the rug hasn’t moved an inch, it also makes it very comfortable. If you get a large format like an 8x10 it would make your life a lot easier to have someone help you, I find it’s a two people job to make it nice and flat on the floor and then lay your rug over top while keeping it flush to the ground.
