I recently purchased the Westinghouse 11000 Peak Watt Dual Fuel Portable Inverter Generator with Remote Electric Start, and it’s been a fantastic addition to my emergency preparedness setup. Living in an area prone to power outages, I needed a reliable solution to keep my whole house running and ensure my Tesla stays charged when the grid goes down. This generator has delivered on both fronts, and I’m genuinely impressed with its performance. Setting it up was a breeze. It arrived with everything I needed—oil, a funnel, a toolkit, and a remote start key fob—so I had it up and running in no time. The remote electric start is a game-changer; I can fire it up from inside the house without trudging outside in bad weather. Plus, the dual fuel capability (gasoline or propane) gives me flexibility depending on what fuel I have on hand, which is a huge plus during emergencies when gas stations might not be operational. For whole house backup, this generator’s 11,000 peak watts and 9,000 running watts (on gasoline) have been more than enough to power my essentials. I’ve got it hooked up to a transfer switch via the L14-30R outlet, and it effortlessly keeps my refrigerator, lights, Wi-Fi, and even a window AC unit going during outages. The inverter technology ensures clean power with low THD, so I don’t have to worry about sensitive electronics getting fried. It’s not dead silent—around 64 dBA under load—but it’s manageable, especially since I park it outside away from the house. Where this generator really shines for me is charging my Tesla in a pinch. With the 50-amp 14-50R outlet, I can plug in my Tesla Mobile Connector and get a decent charge going. It’s not as fast as a dedicated Level 2 charger, of course, but at about 20-25 miles of range per hour, it’s a lifesaver when I need to keep the car operational during extended outages. I’ve tested it with both gasoline (up to 17 hours on a 7.92-gallon tank) and propane (shorter runtime but cleaner burning), and it handles the load without breaking a sweat. One thing to note: it’s not lightweight at around 187 pounds, but the wheels and handles make it portable enough to move around my property. The CO sensor adds peace of mind, especially when running it near the garage. My only minor gripe is that the fuel efficiency drops a bit under heavy loads—like when charging the Tesla and running the house simultaneously—but that’s to be expected with any generator pushing its limits. I have had several generators over the years and this is one of the nicest ones I have owned. It is very well built with easy access panels. It only took me a few minutes to install the wheels, handle, and fill it with oil to include connecting the battery connector. It fired right up and ran very smooth and is super quiet. I appreciate the fact that it not only has a 50A twist lock plug, but it actually generates 47 amps peak which was a deciding factor in buying it. Not all generators output 50A even though they have a 50A plug. It's something to verify in the specs if you are buying one and want the 50A capacity. I also like the front panel, it is very easy to access and understand. The ECO feature is nice to have and will help to save fuel when loading is low where it drops the engine RPM's. The remote start/stop works well and I can shut the generator off from 50ft away in my house which will be handy for late evening shutdowns. It also has a pull cord for manual starting, so there is no single failure if the battery has lost its charge. Lastly, it came with a battery tender to keep the battery charged up, so there is no worrying about that. I highly recommend this generator and it is considerably cheap for it's size and features.

I purchased the Westinghouse 11000 Peak Watt Dual Fuel Inverter Generator to be prepared for hurricane season, and it has exceeded my expectations. I had it professionally installed to connect directly to my electrical panel, and the setup went smoothly. One of the first things I noticed was how quiet it is compared to my previous generator—huge improvement! It runs perfectly on propane, which is a big plus for me since it’s easier to store and cleaner to use. The remote electric start is super convenient, and it powers everything I need without a hitch. It’s also reassuring to know it’s safe for electronics thanks to the low THD. Definitely a solid investment for emergency preparedness. Highly recommend!

After last year's Florida hurricane season, I wanted a generator for whole-house backup and peace of mind. So far, the iGen11000DFc has been a great choice for my needs. The generator arrived in perfect condition, setup was easy, and I'm just finishing a 5 hr. break-in period using propane. I connect it to the house through a 50 amp power inlet box with a generator interlock kit in the breaker panel. I added a Micro-Air Easy Start Flex soft starter to my 5 ton heat pump (which brought my compressor inrush (startup) amps from 107 down to 27 amps). I now have enough power to run most of the house. I haven't tried, but I suspect that I could not run high wattage appliances like the range, clothes drier, or water heater at the same time as the HVAC. I also converted the generator from bonded to floating neutral (relatively easy following a YouTube video.) I like the more efficient, cleaner power and the relative quietness compared to regular generators. I plan to run on propane primarily.
