Excellent product, sturdy build, many good features like battery start, remote start/stop, 50 amp outlet, tri fuel options, and data center. Easy assembly, good user manual, starts right up and runs smoothly.

This generator is an absolute powerhouse. It fired up instantly, powered my whole house (yes, AC and fridge included), and ran like a champ for hours. The dual-fuel option is a total game-changer, and the electric start makes life easy. It’s built tough, runs surprisingly quiet for its size, and gives you total peace of mind during outages. It starts up smooth, runs quiet, and sips fuel like it’s on a diet. Setup was a breeze, and the build feels rock-solid. I’ve used it for both home backup and weekend camping, and it hasn’t let me down once. If you're on the fence, jump — this generator delivers. If you want serious power without the premium price tag — the WGen10500 is it.

I purchased the Westinghouse generator after reading the reviews to ensure my home stays powered during outages, and I couldn’t be happier with my decision. The generator arrived well packaged and in great condition. It was easy to assemble and set up. It took less than an hour, [all necessary tools, oil, funnel, etc.], is provided. I know others said the instructions were hard to follow, but with a little image studying they were quite clear. Overall, I am very impressed with this generator. I completed installing a 50 amp input box to an interlock at the panel with a 50 amp breaker. This generator delivers plenty of power to run essential appliances with ease. As I added load by turning on breakers, the usual change in pitch was nearly undetectable. The features of the generator are excellent, the control panel is well labeled, the outlets are well protected, and the electric start is AWESOME! It is really solidly built, yet it is smooth and easy to move. The sturdy folding handle easily folds out of the way when you don’t need it. I have used the generator twice so far, and have been nothing but impressed. Generators don’t typically make me smile, but this one does. Purchase with confidence, this well-built piece of equipment is worth every penny and won’t disappoint..

purchased the Westinghouse 13500 Peak Watt Dual Fuel Portable Generator primarily for home backup during outages, and I couldn’t be happier with my decision. The build quality is top-notch, the remote electric start is incredibly convenient, and it’s truly transfer switch ready, making integration with my home panel smooth and hassle-free. One of the biggest surprises—and a pleasant one—was that I received a free upgrade to the tri-fuel version! That means I can now run it on gasoline, propane, or natural gas, giving me far more flexibility depending on availability and cost of fuel. This alone adds tremendous value and peace of mind. The generator is powerful enough to comfortably run essential home appliances including the refrigerator, lights, modem, and even an HVAC system if needed. The noise level is reasonable for its size and power, and the included wheels and handles make it surprisingly easy to move for such a heavy-duty unit. Overall, this generator is an absolute beast, and the tri-fuel upgrade just sealed the deal for me. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for serious backup power with flexibility and reliability.

Update I said I would update this if something went wrong, but I later decided I had more to say. Overall, I am very impressed with this generator. I completed installing a 50 amp input box running 6 gauge wire to an interlock kit in my service panel with a 50 amp circuit breaker. After the installation, I started up the generator on propane and tested it out for a couple of hours. It really exceeded my expectations. I ran the AC, a refrigerator, a deep freezer and a microwave at the same time, along with all the regular lights and such. The generator only changed pitch when the AC kicked on, as one would expect, but otherwise ran smoothly, seemingly unaffected by each additional load. I turned on every breaker in the house (though not every item, of course) except for the electric dryer and the car charger. I don't expect we'd really need a dryer so I'm not worried about that one way or the other, and the Volt can run on gas if it needs to. I probably wouldn't charge it from the generator because it would be less efficient than just running the gas engine. Anyway, I couldn't be more pleased with how it handled providing everything I would need in another power outage. Others have pretty throughly covered the details of this product, so I don't repeat those, but there is one thing I do feel is worth noting. The generator comes with the neutral and ground bonded. This is exactly what you would want if you are running it on a job site and plugging extension cords into the outlets. However, for feeding it into the service panel of my house (where the main panel is already bonded), I needed to follow the instructions on pages 15-16 to unbond the neutral and ground in the generator. The thing is that the manual is particularly unhelpful in telling you whether or not you need to do that. It more or less says, 'do this if your electrician tells you to.' It seems to me that this could make that vague, short section easy to overlook, so please pay attention to your specific installation. You may need to do nothing, you may need to unbond it as I did, or you may need to ground it with a rod, depending on how you are using it. There are lots of web sites and YouTube videos that explain why you would choose one for your situation, and it's easy to understand which you need and to unbond it if you need to. However, don't let the lack of emphasis on this in the manual make you think it's not important. It is a safety issue and is very important, so be sure you make a conscious decision about it. Overall, I am very happy with this choice of generator. While I could have gotten by with the next size down by limiting what I would run on it, it is comforting to know that I can keep the entire house running the next time we lose power. Original This is a short-term review because I’ve only had this for a few days. Still, I’ve used it enough to note some pros and cons. The unit arrived in a damaged box that had been patched up by someone along the way. Good for them, because they really did restore the integrity of the box and prevented the possibility of damage to the unit. There was a scrape where the box damage was, but not enough to worry about. One other problem was that the cap over the LPG intake had been torn off of its keeper cord. Given the weight of the item, this isn’t bad. Opening the box, the assembly was easy (other than turning the heavy generator on its side). The instructions were clear and everything went as expected. Once the oil was added and the propane attached, I started it up. It was disconcerting that it backfired on the first start, but it hasn’t done that since. I ran it only on propane (which is how I intend to run it) It ran smoothly and easily handled the load I put on it. I didn’t stress if because of the break-in period, but I ran some items of different sizes and it handled everything easily. The largest thing I checked it out on is an electric induction range and oven and it hardly noticed when I turned it on. The features of the generator are excellent. I really like the remote start button and the covers over the outlets. It is really solidly built, yet it is smooth and easy to move. The folding handle gets out of your way when you don’t need it and it rock solid when you do. This will be an emergency generator for our home, and I will be using the 50 amp outlet plugged into a Reliance 50 amp input box. I don’t have my interlock kit installed yet, so I haven’t tested it on multiple loads, but I’ll do that next week and add to the review if anything problematic arises. Overall, this looks like a solid product that will easily meet my needs.

This generator is not only extremely powerful and can drive my entire home, but the setup/instructions and user friendliness are exceptional. I was easily able to set it up and have it running in 30 mins with all tools, oil, funnel provided. The remote start is a great bonus here in Ontario where -30C is a certainty at some point this Winter. The build quality is superb - heavy duty materials, vcery tidy assembly and no loose fittings (yes I checked). There are only 2 small comments I would make, and 1 is something the manufacturer cannot really address without a lot of expense. The item is shipped without the the wheels or feet attached for understandable reasons, and the buyer must install them. Doing this is extremely simple and takes just a minute or 2, but the generator must be turned onto it's side to do this, and it is a very heavy piece of equipment. I am a 200lb guy and no stranger to the gym and I had no issues with this, but it is something to be aware of - if you are not able to handle heavy weights, you will need assistance to do this. Secondly, the website I ordered from said that the generator came with a spare spark plug, which it did not. Not a big issue. Overall, I am absolutely delighted with this generator and would not hesitate to recommend it

Ordered this generator in October and finally got around to installing it yesterday - January 9th 2025. It was an easy install and started once the gas reached the engine. Tried the key fob remote - started up immediately. So far I'm excited about this generator. Sure hope it continues to comfort me. I love it.
