An outstanding journey this has been so far. It was unpredictable, which in turn kept me intrigued. Sanderson is my favorite author by far, with a writing style that never grows tedious or overly wordy, despite the fact I was reading a book with over 1300 pages. There was some subject matter I didn't care for in the book, but I suppose it has to be these days. It didn't detract from the story, but I don't think it added to it, either. Once again, an outstanding work by Sanderson, and I look forward to the next Return.

When we look back 10, 20, 30, 50 years from now, Stormligjt Archive will be an influential series of literature greater than Lord of the Rings. No knock on LOTR; respect because it started this genre. But I've read tens of fantasy series and none come close to the Stormligjt Archive series. Deeeeep character development, world building, plot writing, inter-series comsere connections. I always struggle reading the next book after completing a Sanderson novel because the next few or so drab comparatively. 7 out of 5 stars

An amazing conclusion to the first arc of this story. There are so, so many things I love about this book. The characters continued to grow and develop. The world gets even richer, and I find myself so very excited to read the next book.

The book starts off a little slow, but becomes a constant roller coaster jumping from POV to POV developing multiple story lines simultaneously on a bigger level than any other of Brandon's books in the series. The results of every major conflict are heavy and will greatly impact the future of all of his books. This was an incredible ending to the first five books of the Stormlight Archives. I can't believe there's not going to be another books for years, I really can't wait.

I'm a huge reader, Probably 2-3 books a week. Sanderson, admittedly, is one of my favorite authors due to his unique writing style and worlds. This book blows anything away that he's written in my opinion! There are 3 main point of views you follow through this book and they change up pretty darn often which keeps the pace moving pretty quick. I remember seeing that I was only 20% of the way through the book and I couldn't believe how hooked I was and how much was happening already. Brandon has a way of being a little sloggish in the Stormlight Series... NOT in this book. The pacing is perfect. There is a lot of introspect in this book. A lot of self discovery, but it's not boring - it's tied together with constant happenings. None of it feels forced and some of it is a bit surprising. You have to actually think about the whole book to even realize it's surprising because of how well it's done. You will see some people completely different at the end of this book. One in particular, in my opinion. I laughed out loud plenty of times. I sat on the edge of my seat plenty of times. I thought I had it all figured out plenty of times (I was right about a couple of things throughout the book). In typical BS fashion Brandon tosses ya a few things that are almost impossible to feel out even though he does foreshadow here and there. You have to realize he loves a fake foreshadowing as well though. Overall, this is my favorite book I've read of his. It brought so much together, elightened quite a bit, and really has me wondering what's happening next. VERY hard to try to figure out. But I CANNOT wait to see. One note: As usual, you don't need to read the rest of the cosmere books for this, but oh boy if you do it's a lot more fun (at least I think it would be since I have). No matter what, get this book!

The storytelling is fantastic as always. Sanderson can create a story and pull you in like no one else before him. Unfortunately, he also gets caught up in his own stories and sometimes he drags them out far more than is necessary. This creates a serious slog for any reader to get through his books. It's always worth it, but it's not always fun.

Branden Sanderson has truly emerged as one of fantasies great titans. I can’t say anything about the plot because I don’t want to give anything away, but what a testament to the kind of stories that can be written with careful outlining. In some ways, maybe Taravangian is a metaphor for Sanderson’s project, because he must have had this whole thing planned out from the get go. The cosmere books are truly a grand tapestry in the fantasy genre. Sanderson may not have the sentence to sentence elegance of Tolkien, Martin, or Rothus, but he is the GOAT of actually finishing books in a timely manner, and I think Wind and truth makes him the GOAT of planning a great story ark. While other authors get stuck on perfecting one book, Sanderson plunges ahead brilliantly at forging a universe. I think this book finally gives readers a glimpse at the true scope of Sanderson’s ambitious vision for the cosmere and I have every confidence he will deliver another ten years of master pieces as he completes the series.

Minor Spoilers I read an article that Sanderson was worried that he'd finally lose us with this one. At the time I thought maybe the lore was too much to follow, which has been a risk as the Cosmere of it all has blossomed. The problem wasn't that. It wasn't anything. Sanderson did just the right amount of all the things: freshly-explained lore vs easter egg scenes vs true mysteries; triumphs vs failures; endings vs transformations, impacting major vs minor characters. It was a worthy continuation of what he started in book 1, and stretching back to the start of the Cosmere. Some readers will wish things were different. More or less of certain characters or events, perhaps less of the foreshadowing that made certain reveals feel predictable, or even inevitable. I finished the book overwhelmed with relief that the author found this balance, and gratitude for the story he chose to share with us.

Best series ever created. One of the best endings to a series ever made. After months of speculation, i guessed one thing right, and was absolutely floored by multiple big moments.

First half of best epic series concluded. Each character development is good, plot is unpredictable. Can't wait for second half.
