This product absolutely works. I discarded the stock antenna and hooked it up to a "Outdoor WiFi Antenna Extender BAS-2307" via a SMA extension cord running outside. I immediately got full or nearly full bars from distant signals in neighborhood. I can imagine this working just as well with a stock setup or even a slightly upgraded indoor antenna !

These Yosoo 8W boosters are replacing a pair of 5W Sinmax boosters in use on each end of a 1 mile 2.4ghz wifi link with very high gain directional antennas. The 5W's gave good signal but high noise, which really hurt the SNR / throughput. These 8W boosters do give just a touch stronger signal by 3-6db, but far less noise injection so maybe 10db better SNR or so. The 8W are much larger, giving more heat sink area, which means they are running much cooler to the touch. The included cable to connect to the router is still not as large caliber / robust as I would expect at this price point. Be careful not to connect the cable backwards, this will bend the RP-SMA pin on your router!

I measured the output power from this amplifier using an RF power meter rated at this frequency. I measured this providing it with the rated input power of 10dBm, as per the specs. It produced an output power of about 1.5W to 1.7W, not 8W. I think the manufacturer is specifying the power it sinks electrically rather than the actual power it produces in RF out the antenna. Also, BE FOREWARNED - I see some people say there is no benefit, and I think it's worth mentioning that this device uses SMA on one side and SMA-RP on the other. It's real easy to connect this and not realize the center electrode may not be making contact due to the RP nature of one of the connections. But ultimately I returned this item because I can get almost the same power output (~1.1W to 1.2W) from another competing product available at Amazon at about half the price.

I pick up more with just my antenna alone then with this device connected to my antenna and wifi device

I love this little old thing. I think it's one of the best things I have bought online, in a very long time.

The device looks pretty, but the instructions are very minimal. The cost is affordable and the specifications are really attractive but my network didn't improve whatsoever. This pretty black box acts like a signal attenuator rather then a signal booster. I installed it between my USB WiFi adapter AWUS036NHA (AR9271 chipset) and the preexisting antenna. It didn't take me too long to realize that I had just purchased a $89 "brick". In fact, at "Power On" I immediately saw signal loss and network delay. For the review readers, I am not a newbie here and according to my Vector Antenna Anayzer, the antenna (I built) is perfectly tuned on channel 6 of the 2.4 GHz range, and my WiFi adapter works just fine. Unfortunately for me, I cannot return the item because I no longer have the box. In the light of all this, I cannot recommend this product to the WiFi enthusiasts. The item is not a good reason to get the wallet lighter. It would be nice if the vendor would reach out to me to either offer a replacement or a refund ...... but I don't think so. Watch out!

doesn't say what to do if your router has more than 1 antenna.

It's as the title says. I used this for an audio bluetooth setup. This amplifier is plugged into a bluetooth audio receiver (an Audio Galaxy JIB) which in turn goes into a a mixer. I was never impressed and didn't really feel like the range was extended at all. Forgot about it and now it's too late for a refund. It's only recently that I checked with a bluetooth signal monitor. The signal strength actually goes DOWN from -30dBm without the amplifier to -47dBm when it's plugged between the JIB and the antenna. So yeah, it's pretty much trash or broken or both.
