Great rice cooker. Easy to use and clean. Settings allow for cooking different grains, porridge, or steaming.

Very cute rice cooker, the 3 cup size is just right for my family of 3. We seldom eat more than one cup total. I have cooked basmati rice, calrose, brown basmati and brown nishiki. It all came out good, without burning or overflow, no mushiness or hardness, a good consistency. I chose this cooker for the slow cooker function, which worked well and faster than a crock pot. Also I used the steamer function to saute ingredients before adding rice, no steamer basket. I figured if this function will boil water it is hot enough to saute some onions. Also made chicken curry in 40 minutes with the steam function. Threw in the chicken in the inner pot, no steamer basket. They sweated plenty of liquid, I didn't add water. About 20 minutes later I added the seasonings which I had meanwhile sauteed on the stove. At the end I let it reduce with the lid open. This cooker is really versatile, great for a college dorm or studio with no kitchen. I have a kitchen but I am tired of cooking so with this I can set the timer and go out. Also made a Japanese cheesecake, coconut flour blueberry cake and chocolate flour less cake that came out great albeit small but that is fine for me. Accommodates a 2 egg recipe. I buttered the pan, the cakes came out easily. About rice, soak rice 1/2 hour for best results in any cooking method. I also made rice with gandules. I made sure rice and water were measured to the right line before adding other ingredients. Remember for some meats and veg they will exude additional water so cook them first to know how much water is going in there One thing I don't know, is the rest period after cooking rice included in the time or not? I also wish a stainless steel option were available, even at additional cost. The company could make extra cash selling stainless steel inserts. I don't know what ceramic coating is made of after all. But I am enjoying this cooker and I think it is well designed to appeal to both easterner and western cooks. Though, I did notice the design is identical to a Reishunger model that has tahdig function and no slow cooking for 80 dollars or so. I don't know is the Reishunger has fuzzy logic or just looks the same externally.

After following the included instructions and making a sacrificial half cup of rice, I made a one cup batch of my favorite jasmine rice. I rinsed the rice as directed and added water to just a hair above the 1 mark since the sacrificial batch seemed to come out slightly dry. I then set a delay timer for an hour and a half since I had a couple of errands before dinner. When I got home the rice had just finished cooking and had gone into keep warm mode exactly at the time I expected. The rice came out perfect, better than anything I've ever been able to accomplish I a sauce pan on the stove or in my larger pressure cooker. I'm very impressed just how well this cooked the rice to a perfect doneness and texture. Clean up is super easy with the coated pot. I couldn't be happier with this machine. It's kind of expensive, but I think it's worth it for the ease and convenience of making perfect rice every time.

This thing is raw. Can cook beans and sweet potatoes at the same time. Small, easy to use, works well.

This cooker works as advertised. It is economically priced and seems durable and well built. So far I have cooked rice, which comes out very fluffy and in only a short time. I have also cooked oatmeal and grits (Southern United States) which came out very well on the "porridge setting." I am pretty sure Yum Asia has never heard of grits, but their cooker makes some really good grits. The porridge setting takes 1.5 hours, compared to about 30 minutes on the stove top, but the convenience and absence of mess is worth the extra time. The rice cooks in about 30 minutes and is above excellent. This particular model of cooker makes adequate servings for about 1-3 persons. Highly recommend.

Used today for first time. I did one cup of white jasmine rice and followed the instructions for cooking, including correct water level to use. Chose the “quick” cook option. It was quick! About 25 mins. Very quiet when operating and the rice was very good and not sticky at all. Easy to clean and store. I will cook brown rice next time. I’m happy with this purchase.

I really like this rice cooker a lot. It is light weight and relatively small. The handle makes it easy to move around. Following the instructions for use is easy. I get perfect rice every time. (I love the way my kitchen smells when the rice is cooking!) I also really appreciate the steaming basket. I put some sliced carrots in the steamer basket to cook with the rice tonight. They came out tender and sweet and delicious. It's nice when an appliance meets my needs perfectly and just makes me happy! It is easy to clean and the easy to read water to rice measurements inside the pan are appreciated.

I love this rice cooker. I was skeptical about paying such a crazy price but I really needed a ride cooker that was free of Teflon. A few points to mention...So far I find that you need about half a cup more water than recommended otherwise it does get slightly browned on the bottom. I also love the keep warm function, some people's reviews say that their rice was hard after not long on the keep warm function but I've had my rice in there for 24 hours and they are still perfect! Super happy with this rice cooker. the cooker has a 10 minute countdown till finish which is great too. I have zero issues with this cooker and very happy with my purchase.
