Ordered the 5" Queen size. All parts were there. Assembly was easy, parts fix fine with no need for "tuning" anything. Appears to be very sturdy and I don't see the possibility of anything warping like may happen with wooden parts. We have a wooden bed frame that this fits on/in and because this is metal it slides a little. I'm going to add some "Allagator" tape (where one side of the tape is like a heavy gauge sand paper) to the metal frame which should stop it from sliding. So far I would recommend this.

The box spring arrived safely in dismantled format. I was concerned a little bit at first, but after carefully studying the directions, I was ready to assemble it. Very clever and sturdy design. We used it to replace thicker box spring. This new one lowered the height by several inches, making it much safer for an elderly person to get in and out of bed, which was my goal. Nice job, ZINUS!!

Before I get into the review, it's important to know this product is NOT a box spring. It's a metal foundation. There is a difference between the two. You can Google it for more details but the traditional box spring actually contains spring coils similar to a mattress. The purpose of the box spring coils is that when paired with a mattress, it works to take in some of the shock from normal use, as well as serve to help limit any undo wear to the mattress. So with that said, this product is a FOUNDATION, not a box spring. Now that we have the product clarification out of the way, now for the actual review. Our soon-to-be 3 Y.O. has been sleeping in her toddler bed (converted from her crib) and thought it was time for her to move to a regular bed. She is potty trained and we decided there's really no reason to keep her in the toddler bed. Luckily our crib is a 4-in-1, with the last conversion being a full-size bed. After researching online, I found that getting a low-profile box spring is preferred for toddlers so they can get in & out of bed. Otherwise the size of a mattress + box spring + bed frame would be too high for her. I tried shopping for a low profile box spring locally at various mattress stores and couldn't find anything cheaper than over $100 (plus they wanted $50 for delivery). So I just ended up finding this product on Amazon along with the mattress. For those of you wondering, I paired it with this product: . Assembly was easy and took about 15-20 minutes. The instructions just consisted of pictures, so you just match the pieces in the picture. One reason I am docking a star is because one of the support bars on one of the pieces welded incorrectly. It actually caused the piece to not match up with the bolt hole. I had to "bend" the piece in order for it to line up with the bolt hole. In addition, some spots of the metal where it wasn't coated (metal spots near the weld were exposed) showed signs of minor rust. With those issues aside, this product makes for a VERY STURDY foundation. Fully assembled, it does not bend at all and is a perfect platform for the mattress. I do like how the product comes with a cover (to make it appear like traditional box springs). I just hope that no one jumps on it when exposed because I distinctly remember jumping on the box springs when I was a kid. Otherwise they'll slip right through. Good product!

First impressions of this Zinus Smart Box Spring/Foundation are great! I purchased the full size, and just put it together by myself in about 30 minutes. It arrived in good condition with no damaged or bent parts, and everything fit together easily as it should have done. Instructions are diagrams, but are clear and easy to follow since all of the parts are labeled with numbers and "UP" to correctly orient them. The included ratcheting Allen wrench was helpful to get all of the bolts tightened. The cover goes on just like a fitted sheet with elastic around the bottom edges and gives the visible sides a nice finished upholstered look. It feels sturdy and fits very well in the frame of my antique bed. I love the low profile. The only down side: it was shipped USPS (rather than UPS or FedEx) and my local post office wouldn't deliver it because it was "oversized" and they labeled it "two person lift". I had to pick it up the day after I had expected delivery. It does come in a long box, but I carried it to my car by myself without a problem.

I will always buy this type of box spring from now on. A bit of pain to put together. But once you got it. It’s simple. Instructions could be better. However. Very sturdy. I don’t see it breaking like wood. And if you have tight spaces it will always fit in your room !
