You get what you pay for. This 65 yr old woman put it together without issues in 25 mins. there are thoughtful details like felt on the center support beam to dampen bounce and squeaks. Also the cover is well made, nicely fitted and made from study materials. If you don't love hauling your mattress up out of its bed frame to tuck in sheets, this is the ticket. Tips for easy peasy assembly: 1 Lay out ALL the bamboo framing right sides up in position. 2 Screw all pieces together LOOSELY at first, so go one time around, including center beam, just turning the bolts enough to attach pieces without tightening anywhere. 3 Now go around screwing in the bolts to hand tightness. 4 Finally use the nifty rachet included to tighten fully. Don't over tighten or crack anything, use commonsense. (One person assembly tip: assemble the frame w/o straps if you have to position on bed frame by yourself, it's lighter. Straps can easily be placed with this inside the bed frame.) 5 Figure out where the peg holes are drilled into the last/first strap of wood in each series of straps attached by velcro. 6 Keeping the straps in a stack position the strap with holes over the middle of bed pegs, velcro on bottom, and lay out straps one by one to pull velcro tight and smooth going up to head or down to foot. Adjust as needed. 7 Cover and badabing, done! One person can easily do this so long as they understand you never screw to death on the first go-round. Maybe Kings would be too much for one person but a Full was a cinch and a 6" wider Queen size would've been do-able as well.

Easy to put together, seems good quality - the slats have Velcro to keep them down on the frame and have little wooden nobs to keep them in place. The frame is sturdy, no squeaking, had a cover and fit our king bed perfect! So glad we ordered this! 4” is perfect, lifts the mattress up to the perfect higher :) pleased and happy

My husband said very well made! Very easy to put together! Instructions great! The cover that goes over it was nice and easy to put over yet snug!! Now the most important part, how well will it do with mattress on top of it and a body on top of the mattress!! Review to be continued!!
Glut & Lack: troublemaking twinsReviewed in the United States on May 4, 2017
We got this Zinus 8" frame to support the layered alternative to a conventional mattress we got for our 1940s twin bed. Our layered alternative is a new 4" traditional (all cotton) futon topped with two pieces of foam (1" high density, 2" memory) and a thick cotton mattress pad. The mattress ended up higher off the floor than we expected (a short person's feet sort of dangle). Even with frequent turning, if this futon is used regularly it'll compact some, so the 8" will work alright. But if we add another bed like this, we will probably get the lower profile 4" frame. Delivered in about a week, the frame was well packaged and not as heavy as we feared. A middle aged woman carried it in easily. It came with instructional diagrams (no text, so it's universal, language wise) – not that we needed them. The assembly steps are obvious. It went together quickly and easily. The frame's wood is straight, clean, and smooth with no obvious flaws. Presumably the original plan was for buyers to attach the four support pieces to each other using the included screws. Instead, two of the corners came pre-connected with hinges. Though this made assembly a wee bit faster, we would have preferred the screw method because the (low end, sort of flimsy feeling) hinges are on the loose side. Truthfully, this is probably irrelevant because once in place, the frame isn't going anywhere. One note of caution though: make sure to support the hinged pieces along their full length so that one (probably the short side) doesn't flop down and stress the hinge. Otherwise the hinge could twist or break and you'll be drilling your own hole and reaching for one of the extra screws that is included. The slats, for the twin size anyway, come in two sections. The slats in each section are connected together with a flexible fabric tape (if I'm remembering right). Once the sections are unfurled, small pieces of Velcro on the bottom attach to corresponding Velcro pieces on the top the frame itself (the sides pieces that are now connected). The slat sections went into place easily (with only minor effort required to match up the Velcro) and seem perfectly sturdy. Instead of installing the cover, we opted to "dress" the frame with a spare fitted sheet made of microfleece for now. We thought the pressed (not woven) fabric/papery material that forms the cover's sides (similar to what most reusable, biodegradable shopping bags are made of) might prove too tempting for our cats' claws. Now we wonder not only if the wood itself might be even MORE tempting, but also if the cats may decide to climb up through the frame's openings and perch tree-limb style on the bed's original slats, which we left in place (probably unnecessarily, as it turns out). This likely won't hurt the cats OR the frame, but it could present a problem on vet visiting day! So, the assembled box frame is sturdy and fits perfectly where the bed's slats normally go. Guests have reported sleeping comfortably on it, and test naps have been successful. Even though this product had ZERO Amazon feedback when we ordered it, we chose to go with the Zinus version instead of the other – heavily reviewed – manufacturer's version because it cost a little less and looked like it was made at LEAST as well. And we like supporting new vendors if we can. We highly recommend this to anyone who, like us, has opted out of expensive, often unsatisfactory mattress/box spring sets.

I am so happy I bought this! I had been dealing with a worn out squeaking box spring for a year and I would wake up just by adjusting in my sleep. I bought this as I live in an apartment and needed something I could move alone. It took no time to put together I read about the issues with the clover not fitting so I made sure to lay it out before I put it on, to make sure I had it the right way. The zipper was a bit tough on the corners but otherwise went on perfectly and added to the sturdiness. In terms of value for money there is really not difference, actually this cost more then most box springs from mattress stores. The value was in the fact that I don’t have a truck or someone to help me get one of those home and this was delivers to my door. This is the fifth product from Zinus that I have bought and I have been happy with all the others. They are definitely my go to brand when I am looking for easy and Convenient.

but it does! We took this box spring to the "cottage" to put in our small camper trailer. It was very well packaged, so it was perfect to transport for the 6hr drive. It was very easy to assemble and it came with great tools to get the job done quickly and easily. I did it by myself with no issues -- I did need help to put the cover on, which was somewhat of a shame, to cover such high quality and perfectly smooth finish, but the cover itself is wonderful. I was actually surprised at how nice the box spring is. The first night we slept on it, we couldn't believe how comfortable it was! It was like having a new bed. Other than the trailer, I have always had a box spring and I never thought much about it, but putting this box spring under our mattress was incredible. We slept like a dream every night, and with all of the physical labour we do at the cottage, it was so wonderful to sink into that bed every night. We love it and it made our little trailer feel like a home. I highly recommend this box spring, and should I need one for my regular home, I would definitely purchase from this company again. Absolutely love it!

It’s cheap pine wood. But easy to assemble - all the spots drilled correctly and only takes 8 screws and bolts (I believe). As others had said, it is difficult to get the cover on. Taken from what others said in reviews, if it wasn’t going to zip up easily, I took it off and tried to turn it. I bought a king size, so it wasn’t easy to keep track of all the fabric and I must have messed up somewhere cause it took me 3 turns to get it right. Meanwhile I was trying to turn my king size box in a small room over top of my bed frame (wouldn’t have gotten it through the doorway if I built it before bringing it in). Needless to say it wasn’t fun. The slats are secured to the box with Velcro but they keep falling out when we were trying to get the cover on. In my particular situation, 2 people were not enough. it was difficult and we almost gave up putting on the cover. It once on, it was tight and not saggy. I’ve been sleeping on it for a few months now. Never noticed noise or breakage. So though I wondered about the cheap pine, so far it’s perfect for what I wanted (that is, until I move and have to physically take it apart to get it through the door and hallway and rebuild it - such is life I guess!).

The cover is tricky but it's easy to put on if you stand up the entire thing on its side and put the cover on top. (Get someone to help you hold it.) Start zipping it up and then gently put the whole thing on the floor to finish zipping it up. Make sure the zipper is facing up, not towards the floor. This box spring seems well made, was relatively easy to assemble. Instructions were clear and had pictures. Hopefully this box spring will last a long time.

Have had the box spring for two weeks and it has made a huge difference in terms of the bed responds to our movements where before having the box spring, we sank in a lot. However, the bed feels much more supportive and responsive. The box spring is really easy to assemble and it is solid, much better than IKEA products. The low profile, 4" is just what we needed and it is hard to find. The price is higher than most low profile box spring out there - but for us we had no choice but to get his one, since it is not easy to find one that is made here for Canadians by Canadians.
