I have never been much of a water drinker unless it’s in a can of Coca Cola. When I moved to Fort Worth, TX I quickly learned just how bad tap water can taste—even when ice cold. So I purchased another very famous-brand pitcher with a filter. It really made the water taste better but not great. I have some friends who live in an isolated area of Fort Worth and their water comes from a well deep down under the Earth’s surface. And let me tell you just how good tasting well water can taste. It’s truly delicious. When I take my daily medicine using my water from the pitcher and compare my water to theirs there is no good things to say about my water. I then turned to looking for a better filter-based pitcher for great tasting water. After searching on Amazon.com—where else to shop but Amazon—I found this filtered process and in a 12-cup pitcher. One thing about Amazon is I can always return it if the manufacturer’s promise does not live up to the hype they give it. I cannot properly express just how great this water, after going through this filter, is. Simply put—IT’S FANTASTIC. Other than my friends’ well water, the water once passed through this filter is without a doubt is as close to tasting like their well water as can be. I can’t say it any other way than to give it a 5-star review and hope that you will take my word for it and give it a try. For those of you with a large family, I strongly urge you to purchase the larger tank-sized containers using this 5-stage filtering system. Stop paying for bottled water when ZeroWater Filtered Water tastes as good as the best bottled water. You won’t be disappointed.

Our water is pretty good but some times of the year there seems to be a lot more minerals and sediment and occasionally the algae blooms in the lakes and rivers locally make the water small awful. We had started buying reverse-osmosis bottled water but between my husband and I, we go through a lot of water a week and frankly I was tired of carrying it in from the store. So I got this for cooking water, coffeepot, countertop icemaker, etc. The water really is clean from this and it came with the little meter so you can check when you need to change the filter - and check your tapwater to see what you might otherwise be drinking. The filters are kind of huge compared to the old Brita filters we used years ago, but they do the job! I don't use the little tap on the bottom of the pitcher but if you had kids it would be handy.

These work so much better AND LONGER than the un brand filters for Zero Water pitchers. The un brand may cost less in the beginning but the $$ adds up when you have to replace them every 3 weeks. I know this from a personal bad experience with the un brand.

I compared the water coming out of my tap with the included PPM.. parts per million of solids tester. Water coming out of my tap before using zero water was 180 PPM, now reduced to zero, and I also use a whole house water filter. Note: I did not leave tester on, but batteries ran out immediately. You can remove the battery pack from the end and just store it next to the device to save batteries. LR44 battery equivalents are also referred to as A76, AG13, L1154, LR1154, 157
