I was ever so skeptical about this insect (specifically mosquitos and fruitfly) catching technology. I have had two small lamps with this light technology for a couple of years, and I am not 100 % sure they work as good as I hoped. They do not plug in an outlet but have to be charged through a laptop. Then you can hang them any place you want which is a big plus. So I bought 4 of these items, and for each one 1 refill. That does need to be enough for the summer of 2025. I needed to find a suitable outlet in all the rooms I wanted one so I started right after I got them delivered to arrange that. They look good, no bright shining purple light, for which I was kind of worried. All this was ready about 5, 6 weeks ago. We live in mosquito heaven, but at that point there was not a mosquito or fruitfly in sight. I anxiously waited, for the first time in my life I was looking really forward seeing the pesky creatures... After 2, 3 weeks I changed my mind about what the best place was for 2 of them and decided to change that right away. And that's when for me the magic happened... Looking curiously inside these stations I discovered there were already plenty of bugs of many different shapes and sizes caught on the sticky inserts!!! I then checked the others and low and behold, they had been busy catching bugs as well!!! It then finally occurred to me that THAT WAS THE REASON WHY NO LIFE BUGS WERE SIGNALED in the house! HA!!! I am so impressed! These stations don't need to be taken down, checked, and charged each and every day. They do their work silently and i.m.h.o. perfectly, I really could not be happier and more impressed! So, hb and I put in some time and effort to find the very best spot for each station. There was a lot of good advise on line and coming with the Zevo stations. I have 2 items (1 lamp we already had before and 1 plug-in Zevo station) in the kitchen which for me is the most important place. While writing this review I realized I should have made some pictures so I could have shown to proof what I am writing, but other things went on in our family life that made time scarce. But I really wanted to share this, just in case you are still undecided. I have not noticed a smell, or anything else unpleasant, and I have had them too short to make a comment on the lifespan of the sticky inserts. If I need to adjust or change this review I will do so when something shows up.

Since moving to the NC mountains, I have encountered a variety of bugs/flying insects that I have never had a problem with before. I started seeing tiny flying insects that one might think were fruit flies, but they appeared before even having food in the house, since it was a newly built home. They kept coming and coming and I was at my wits end with trying to eliminate them. I tried vinegar and water, along with other fruit fly traps that didn't barely make a dent in catching them. Then I started seeing them throughout the home, and in places where there weren't any food items after moving in. They even bothered me in my home office! I went to the extent of having a plumber come out to ensure they weren't drain flies and were told they weren't, and had pest control spray several times in and outside the home. I couldn't prep food without them coming around, I would see them flying across my bedroom at night, and they appeared on my bathroom mirror! Enough was enough! So, I decided to try these Zevo fly traps! And let me tell you, they started catching them quickly! Easy to set up and assemble. I just popped one of the sticky traps into the cartridge and plugged into several outlets throughout the home in places where I saw them the most. The trap itself is super sticky so once the flies get stuck, there is no going back! The plug-in cartridge is somewhat big and if plugging into the top outlet, you still have space to plug something into the outlet below it, like a regular plug(lamp/vacuum) but nothing overly big. It has a blue light glow that attracts all sorts of flies, including gnats and moths. I have found that on darker painted walls the blue light still glows, just not as bright as it does on lighter colored walls. With fly and gnat season into full swing, my pest control guy told me to go ahead and get them plugged in to start catching them early. So, I loaded up on these and have many throughout the home, and especially in areas I see them the most. While they are a little more expensive than other brands or fly traps, I feel these are worth every penny due to its effectiveness. I am hoping I am ahead of the game with getting them set up early so I can enjoy having food or a beverage without having to fish out these tiny little critters! Side note: plug them into areas you see them the most, and/or around plants. Check within a few days and if they aren't catching anything move them and try a new spot! First three photos are when I plugged them in after moving into our home last year in July, and you will see the volume it caught in ONE night. The last few are of me plugging them in now, trying to stay ahead of the game.

We had a problem with the ‘no-see-ums’ coming through the screens. We’d used regular bug zappers in the past with some success with larger flying insects, and I figured Zevo lights with the sticky surface might be great for inside the house. They are awesome. They obviously have no odor, they work silently 24/7 attracting any flying insects, and the sticky insert is easily and quickly changed without having to touch the bugs. And the blue nightlight effect is terrific in the great room. I recently bought a second unit (and extra refills) to place in another area by the front door. One thing I’d like to remind people…Don’t place these in your kitchen. You want to draw the insects AWAY from where you see them. You don’t want to draw More to your kitchen. I saw people do this with the original bug lights by hanging them on their decks and patios. You want to draw them AWAY from where they are a problem, not draw more in.

It will catch some, but majority will be flying around it. Waste of money.

Me encanta! Atrapa los mosquitos sin necesidad de molestos insecticidas. Altamente recomendable. Quiza lo único que podría mejorar es en que la trampa quedase abajo del enchufe. Pero es una excelente inversión.
