This MagSafe phone holder for the car is amazing. It's super well-made and feels incredibly sturdy and safe. The magnet is super strong and easily holds my phone over rough roads and train tracks without slipping at all. In fact, removing it requires a bit of effort. The adhesive holds it on the dash with no problem at all. I'm using a flat surface for it, so I don't know how well it would work on a textured dash, but on a flat space, it's perfect. It's surprisingly flexible so that you can find the position that works best for your view and situation. The only drawback I found was that you need to use the included fallen wrench to secure it in place, which can be tedious. On the flip side, once you find the right spot, you can tighten everything up and it stays pretty well in place. I do not have mine fully tightened up so it does move a little when I remove my phone, but that's because the magnet is so strong. Overall, I'm extremely happy with the value and functionality of this phone holder.

Not bad. I don't love it for the car bc metal gets so hot in the summer. Magnet works fine & it adjusts decently for a vehicle, but plastic is needed for the car in the sunshine. Using it on my desk currently & it's perfect for inside.

I have a confession: I'm not using this for it's intended purpose. I'm actually using it as a mount on my desk to hold my phone while I'm working. I had two choices since the mounting tape used on the base, is single use: I could mount it my car, or I could mount it on my desk but I could not do both. I drive once a month or every couple of months. Maybe. So I decided to put it where it would get the most use which was on my desk. For that purpose this thing is flawless. I have a MagSafe case on my iPhone and this mount pulls it right in and it sticks solid; the phone doesn't move and, in fact, it takes a little bit of effort to get it away from the neodymium magnet the mount uses. Not using an iPhone? Don't have a MagSafe case? No worries! It also comes with two metal rings that allow you to use cases or phones that do not comply with MagSafe. The mount itself is solid metal, tip to screw. It's got a high gloss coating and is a gunmetal grey color. It fits nicely with my black desk, keyboard, hard drives, monitors... well, you get the picture. There is also a black rubber coating on the magnetics to keep your phone or case from scratching when your sitting or removing it. Motion-wise, there are three points of actuation on the mounting arm which allows for tilt, height, depth, and orientation positioning. The arm itself swivels 360 degrees which is a very nice feature because I have a privacy screen protector on my phone and you have to be looking straight at it to be able to see the screen's contents. With this mount, if I need to show someone something, all i need to do is swivel the arm to the right angle. No need to detach and reattach. For my magnetics tests, I jolted my desk several times from the top, bottom, and sides, in an attempt to simulate the jolts and jars that might be felt in a car. I obviously wanted to see if the phone would come off the mount. It's not a very big or sturdy desk, in fact, it's a fairly cheap pressboard desk wannabe, so the jolts travel far and hit pretty hard. Fortunately, none of those tests failed; i was never able to get the phone to dislodge from the mount. I knocked everything everything else on the desk over and mostly onto floor several times (learn from mistakes much?), but i never got the phone to come off the mount. I'm not sure these tests are equivalent to it being in a car. Maybe the jolts would be less severe or maybe they would be worse, but after the way this thing held onto my phone through being tapped, slapped, knocked, whacked and just generally bounced around, i have complete confidence it will hold onto any phone no matter what it's put it through. The only thing that sort of irked med about it was that i had to use an allen wrench to tighten screws on the joints to make them solid enough to stay in formation as opposed to a knob or the like. That is a TOTAL nitpick, of course, and actually, truth be told, the way it is looks so much better than having knobs sticking out of it all over the place. The trade off is that there has to be an allen wrench nearby in the event you need to adjust two of the actuation points on the arm. Even that, though, is not a real problem. With a couple pieces of tape, the allen wrench (that it comes with, by the way) will mount nicely under the desk so it's never lost and is always within reach. In summary, if you're looking for a reliable mount for your phone, either for your desk or your car, you can count on this one. It's well worth the money and it's a solid piece of hardware that will serve for a very long time.

I'd love to use this, but I can't figure out how it fits onto the back of my phone, or what the extra rings are for. I'll ask a more tech savvy person if they know, but it's frustrating not to have instructions so I can figure it out for myself. It seems well made and very sturdy.
