Works great! Make sure you pick up all cords - it will wrap around them but other than that it is great!

I purchased the Roomba 105 on a recent sale for ~$200 and have never owned a robo vacuum before. I'm mostly aware of the much older models that bump navigate around homes and do a mediocre job of cleaning. I recently read about the implementation of Lidar for improved mapping in the latest line of Roombas so I thought I'd finally try it out. My first impression of the app is a very bad one. Setting up and connecting the Roomba was very difficult due to the app not detecting the roomba or failing half-way through the connection process. It took me the better part of an hour to get it all setup. After the initial setup, the mapping process was quick and worked very well. You can then use the app to modify rooms, create "no clean zones", and setup routines. However, most of this doesn't work well as the app errors constantly whenever you try and do most of those modifications. After charging the roomba a bit (charging is very slow) I tried it out, as the app map was more-or-less setup correctly after the initial scan. I'm shocked how good the roomba navigated the house with very minimal bumping into things during the cleaning process. When it does bump into something, it is a very light bump, but in general you can tell that the sensors and Lidar do an amazing job of helping the roomba nearly touch every surface without actually touching, so it cleans around edges of rooms and furniture pretty well. The roomba starts each room by cleaning the edges before cleaning in a back-and-forth grid pattern so that it really gets every square inch of the room. It all cleans very well in the dark, so you don't need the lights on. In general, I think it cleans very well except for some spots near cabinet toe kick space since the roomba is a tad too tall to get into that space. It navigates back to its charging station afterwards without any issue. I checked the dust bin after each room to see what it's actually doing and lots of dust and other junk is definitely getting picked up! To improve the cleaning I would recommend clearing the floor of small charging cables and setting "no go zones" in areas where there are thicker power cords as it tends to get caught up in those. Thin, light rugs also seem to flip up on the edges as the roomba passes over which gives it some issue as well, but it seems to do a good job of powering through those issues or backing up and trying a different way around. It goes over small thresholds without issue. In general, I think the Roomba 105 is a very good vacuum-only robot and it makes me want to try out more advanced versions in the future. I'm mostly docking 1 star because the app is terrible in its current state and I hope iRobot puts some significant effort into updating and maintaining the app. The app is integral to the roomba useage and I think people's experience will be heavily dependent on how well the app works in the future.

First off if I was allowed to give the product zero stars I would, but it required 1. The unfortunate fact is that this is an excellent robot vacuum. It picks up more dirt than our regular vacuum, navigated great with lidar, and was easy to empty. All of these excellent attributes though are totally and completely cancelled but an unusably bad app for Android. (don't own an Apple device so I couldn't try it there). If you own Android devices just don't waste your time. I am very tech savvy (build my own home PCs, set up my own wifi networks, and write SQL data queries and workflows for a living) and it took me 2 factory resets and an hour just to connect to the wifi. Currently it is 2025 and Roomba is putting out wifi powered products that won't connect to 5G networks (it has been a standard since at least 2009). We have a 2.4GHz network and I got it connected eventually and it seemed to finally be working. However the next day the robot will no longer feed location data through the app. Looking closer I can see the the wifi is no longer connected and it won't reconnect. The only way it was fixed was another factory reset. Then the same problem again the next day. Further it wouldn't communicate via bluetooth to the phone either. It was on it's dock and the app thought it was stuck returning home and wouldn't update. This means it couldn't take any new cleaning assignments and at this point was an electronic door stop. The android app frequently freezes and had to be force stopped as well. The software is completely ruining what would otherwise be a great robot vacuum. Very disappointing experience from Roomba who I would have expected to be an industry leader in this regard. We were forced to return the product because of it not functioning through the app at all.

Having a dog that sheds a lot, this is a lifesaver between cleanings. However, there some major flaws that prevent a 5 star review. 1. Battery life: I have a 1200 sq ft apartment, not a lot of space. I’ve had the robot about a week as of this review. Yet it can only clean one or two rooms at a time before needing to recharge. If you have a lot of space, you’ll need to schedule different rooms for different days. 2. The app leaves a lot to be desired. It won’t record history. I’ve used it 6-7 times in the last week for spot cleaning or going around the apartment to clean up dog hair, yet it only recorded the first run. Also, the “in progress” screen never really seems to update with the actual location and progress. 3. Ad hoc cleaning: a couple of times I tried to get it to “spot clean” or clean a room that had a bit much dog hair. One time I asked it to clean via the app 7 times before it actually did. The other six times it spun around in a circle saying it was calibrating location, then went back to the dock two inches away saying “cleaning complete” despite never having actually reaching g the cleaning destination. All in all, it’s nice having something to help with dog hair in between my availability to clean and k owing it’s a robot not a maid, but it’s an overall disappointment as something reliable.

Okay, I usually hold off a week or two before deciding how I feel about a new gadget—but this Roomba 105 earned its props on day one. It’s shockingly effective and way quieter than I expected. Like, “carry-on-a-call-without-shouting” quiet. It zips around in neat rows like a little cleaning butler with a plan, and thanks to lidar navigation, it doesn’t go rogue or head-butt your furniture. You can use it with Alexa (but I jst program it on a schedule) to kick into actione, and it recharges itself like the responsible little robot it is. That said, it’s not a miracle worker—if you’ve got carpets, this thing is better for daily maintenance than deep cleans. Think of it as your floors' personal assistant, not their boss. Still, it handles pet hair and crumbs like a champ on mixed surfaces and makes daily upkeep pretty painless. For what it’s built to do, it really nails it 👏.

simple but so simple to set up and really gets all the nooks and crannies i have to admit that vacuuming is one of those chores that i often fail to get to on a regular basis. this has solved that problem. it is super thorough and you can set how much cleaning you want (light, normal, heavy) and it will take multiple passes if needed. the dust collector is pretty large and holds a decent amount, i had it do my whole main floor and it wasnt all the way full. I found the set up really simple and the minimal dock is great as it is basically just a magnet charger so the base is slim. it needs some space but could be easily hidden. set up on the app is easy, just let it run and it gives a really accurate map of the floor, you can then decide on where you want it to clean and the names of rooms. I set up schedules for dinnered areas on different days in order to have it run in different areas multiple times a week and get all the cleaning i normally miss. it is really smart and doesnt bump into too many things but instead stops slightly short and spins the brush to that area to collect. i am lowering a star because i find the app is a bit clunky. it didnt save most of my cleaning maps and doesnt show the map while it is cleaning. so if you dont care to watch then that is fine. it did suck up a cord but was really easy to remove and stopped itself before getting tangled up. it easily navigates uneven flooring and the suction is pretty impressive. i also really like how quiet it is, it doesnt soun like a jet like so many ive seen.

The comparable robot vacuum that I have is the Lefant M1. In comparison, the app needed to use the roomba is very glitchy, the battery life is abysmal, the height does not allow to go under some dressers and bed frames, and the charger is where the dust bin is. The app barely works and takes forever to load when the roomba is running. trying to check the charging status, where it is in the house, and what rooms it has cleaned is not smooth. The battery life cleans about half of our house (less than 1000sq feet, minimal rug carpets, and one that is thick). It will clean for about 30 minutes, go to charge, wait a few hours until the charge is 100%, and then will finish the rest of the house. I started it at 0800 in the morning and it didn't finish its job until shortly after 12:00 today. The M1 is a bit thinner so it will go underneath our bed frames and dressers, this model of the roomba has too much stack height and will not clean these areas. Another inconvience is that you have to move the roomba away from it's charging port to empty the trash bin as the trash bin is located near the charging base. Then you have to make sure it goes back "home". Honestly, I had high expectations for this as it is a name brand. I would not go with this model.

I've had this Roomba 105 for a couple of weeks now, this is exactly Roomba 105 but without Auto Empty Dock. It's performance has been a decent. The suction power is strong, and it does a good job picking up dirt, dust, both carpets and hard floors. I'm impressed it goes on my shaggy rug. The LiDAR navigation is reliable, although it can get a bit confused in rooms with a lot of clutter or dark flooring. It's also not the most adept at navigating complex spaces, like under furniture with tight clearances. But for the most part, especially when I compared this to previous Roomba 36x something that I tried before, that one took almost 1 hour to map my first floor. Anyways, this one does a good job mapping out my home and cleaning in neat rows. The app is user-friendly, but not intuitive, and can feel clumsy in some ways. There a lot of bugs and features that are not well thought out. I currently have another Roborock vacuum robot in my home, when I compare the app to this one, the Roborock app is 150% better. It's great it has Alexa support so I can just tell it to start cleaning without having to physically interact with it. Scheduling is a bit confusing to set up on this one, it's not intuitive. I've noticed that sometimes it doesn't always follow the schedule perfectly - maybe a minor software glitch. One thing to note is that the maintenance can be a bit of a pain. The brushes and filters need regular cleaning, and the dock can get clogged if not emptied often enough. But overall, it's a solid robot vacuum for the price, and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a hassle-free cleaning solution. Just don't expect it to handle super complex spaces or dark rooms flawlessly.

As soon as I got this vacuum i immediately put it to work. It took me a while to figure things out. I like to read the owners manual front to back. Once I was done setup was a breeze, it was quick and straightforward. It mapped out my place and started straight to work. Before cleaning I cleared the floors of all toys, cables and chargers and raised or moved my curtains to avoid it getting stuck or caught. The vacuum had really good suction and was able to distinguish between the carpet and the wood floors. I think this will be great for daily cleanup. We have a cat And although she doesn’t shed as much, a vacuum is always needed. This is perfect for a home with pets. We run the schedule for night when we’re all asleep. It doesn’t disturb us as much because it’s on the lower level of the house. I also find that it sometimes take a while when docking, hopefully it programs itself to figure things out. Loving it so far.
